Prabowo Departs from Jordan, Continues Journey to the UAE

AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto departed from Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, at noon local time to continue his working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan personally saw off President Prabowo Subianto’s departure and arrival at the airport.

This took place after the two leaders held a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, Jordan, on Wednesday, 25th February 2026.

The car carrying the two heads of state stopped right in front of the red carpet that stretched to the aircraft stairs.

King Abdullah II exited the driver’s seat on the left side, as he drove the car himself to take President Prabowo to the airport.

President Prabowo wore a black suit, paired with a blue tie and a black peci.

King Abdullah II also wore a complete suit with a red tie.

President Prabowo greeted the media crew standing on the right side of the red carpet.

The former Minister of Defence also saluted the honour guard standing at attention on the right and left sides of the red carpet.

Shortly after, Prabowo ascended the aircraft stairs step by step.

Before fully entering the aircraft, he saluted King Abdullah II and the honour guard on the aircraft stairs again.

For information, President Prabowo also showed a similar gesture when King Abdullah II visited Indonesia in November 2025.

President Prabowo personally escorted King Abdullah II to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, on 15th November 2025.

In this visit, the two countries explored potential and opportunities for cooperation in various fields.

This visit is also expected to strengthen the partnership between the two countries, which has long been established in cooperation in education, religion, regional issues in the Middle East, and support for the Palestinian cause.
