Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto departed for the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday morning to deliver guidance to 478 DPRD chairmen from across Indonesia attending a national retreat from 15 to 19 April 2026.

From his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, President Prabowo proceeded to the Indonesian Air Force Base (Lanud) Halim Perdanakusuma in Jakarta.

The presidential aircraft carrying President Prabowo and a limited entourage then took off from Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma towards Lanud Adisucipto in Yogyakarta around 08:00 WIB.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who accompanied President Prabowo in his activities today, confirmed the President’s agenda for Saturday at Akmil, Magelang.

“(President Prabowo) is heading to Magelang to deliver guidance to DPRD chairmen from across Indonesia,” said Teddy when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.

The Indonesian National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) is holding the Local Leadership Enhancement Course (KPPD), packaged as a national retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, from 15 to 19 April.

During the event, 478 DPRD chairmen are staying at Akmil for five days and wearing camouflage uniforms of the Reserve Component while attending the retreat.

Governor of Lemhannas RI, TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, at the opening event on Thursday (16/4), explained the retreat materials, including the four national consensuses and the global geopolitical dynamics facing Indonesia.

Regarding these materials, Ace hopes they will provide a more comprehensive perspective for local leaders in carrying out their duties.

At the retreat event at Akmil, several state officials also attended as material presenters, one of whom is Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto.

“This is local-level leadership that must synergise with regional heads. They are the hammers, then, the synchronisation between central and regional governments will also be greatly determined. Therefore, over the next few days here, we hope to strengthen those three perspectives,” said Bima after the retreat opening event at Akmil, Magelang, on Thursday (16/4).
