Prabowo Departs for East Java to Inaugurate Roads and Attend NU National Conference
President Prabowo Subianto departed for East Java Province for a working visit on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. The visit includes an infrastructure inauguration agenda and attendance at a national-scale religious event. President Prabowo and a limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at approximately 09.00 WIB. The Head of State’s departure marks the start of a series of agendas scheduled to take place in a single day. Prabowo will begin his working visit in Sampang Regency, East Java. There, he will inaugurate 1,151 kilometres of roads spread across Indonesia, which form part of the implementation of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD). This inauguration is part of the government’s commitment to accelerating road infrastructure development to improve inter-regional connectivity, boost regional economic growth, and facilitate the distribution of goods and services. After completion, President Prabowo will continue his journey to Bangkalan Regency. He is scheduled to attend the Closing of the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) National Conference of Scholars (Munas) and Grand Conference (Konbes) held at IAI Syaichona Mohammad Cholil. This event is an important momentum in strengthening the role of scholars in maintaining national unity and contributing ideas to national development. Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to East Java were Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
