President Prabowo Subianto has instructed all levels of government to ensure that every policy and use of the budget provides tangible benefits to the public. Delivering the government’s introductory statement on the Bill concerning the 2027 Fiscal Year State Budget along with its Financial Note at the MPR Building in Jakarta on Friday, Prabowo also urged the government to enhance discipline, efficiency, and accountability in the implementation of development. “We are building a nation that is sovereign in its decisions, fair in distribution, and equitable in the real lives of the people. I invite the DPR RI, DPD RI, all state institutions, regional governments, the business community, universities, workers, farmers, fishermen, health workers, teachers, and all Indonesian people to jointly oversee our great agenda,” said Prabowo. According to him, development must be carried out with discipline and be results-oriented. He stressed that there should be no projects that absorb large budgets but provide little benefit to the public. “Every rupiah must have a purpose, every policy must have a measure, every official must be accountable,” he stated. He called on the government at all levels to continuously make corrections and improve work discipline. The government, he said, must be present to provide solutions to the various problems faced by the community. Therefore, he urged central and regional governments to work together to prevent corrupt practices, fraud, and budget mark-ups in government spending. The President also stressed the importance of consolidating government spending to improve efficiency. “We will create an agency that consolidates all government spending into one institution. The government must be more efficient at every level. We must reduce all inefficient expenditures,” he revealed.
