President Prabowo Subianto visited Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 17 Tabanan on Sunday (7/6/2026). During the occasion, Prabowo witnessed the talents of the students in various fields, including marching drills, chants, Kecak dance, choir, poetry, and English speech.

The enthusiasm and development of the students filled Prabowo with pride. Nevertheless, he left several messages for the students of SRMP 17 Tabanan to encourage them to continue their self-development.

“We must work hard; students must work hard. Students must study well, study hard, study with discipline, and always obey their teachers,” Prabowo stated in a written release on Monday (8/6/2026).

However, hard work is not the only essential factor. For Prabowo, respect for others, particularly for parents and teachers, is a consciousness that must be instilled. He noted that even in situations of poverty or extreme poverty, parents continue to struggle to provide the best for their children and offer endless affection. Therefore, Prabowo wants children to remain proud of their parents, regardless of their occupation.

Prabowo also expressed his pride upon meeting Gede Bagus Abimanyu. The student, affectionately known as Abimanyu, is a former victim of bullying at his previous school. The bullying caused him to fall into despair and led to a period of being out of school.

At SRMP 17 Tabanan, he overcame his fear and faced the trauma of bullying. By encountering new faces every day, he gradually faced his challenges with honesty, enthusiasm, and an indomitable spirit. This resilience led him to become an anti-bullying ambassador.

Abimanyu’s efforts to overcome his trauma received appreciation from President Prabowo, who commended him for facing his trauma with a positive attitude. Prabowo even joked that even a president can be teased. However, he advised that whatever challenges students face, they must respond with politeness.

Expressing his pride, Prabowo gave Abimanyu a warm hug and patted his shoulder to offer encouragement.

“It is okay to be teased. Not just you, I am often teased as well. Even now, as President, I am frequently teased. What matters is your heart. If we are teased, we must respond with politeness,” Prabowo concluded.
