Prabowo Delighted to Attend Event Handing Over Seized Funds to State Treasury
President Prabowo Subianto admitted to being pleased to attend the event handing over seized funds from cases to the state treasury. Prabowo joked that he is always enthusiastic about being invited to such agendas because he can see piles of money worth trillions of rupiah directly.
He conveyed this during a speech at the handover event to the state treasury at the Attorney General’s Office building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). Prabowo has attended such activities at the Attorney General’s Office four times, with a total handover value to the state treasury of Rp 40 trillion.
“Brothers and sisters, once again, it is an honour for me and also a joy to attend this event. I think this is the umpteenth time, how many times is this? The fourth time, right? The fourth time with a total handover of how much? Total approximately Rp 40 trillion,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo then said he is always pleased to receive invitations to such seized funds handover events. “I am happy if I keep getting invited to events like this. Every invitation, see physically Rp 10 trillion,” he stated.
Prabowo also revealed information about another seized funds handover with a larger value. That handover will be delivered next month.
“I also got a whisper that next month there will be a handover of Rp 11 trillion, apparently,” he continued.
Not only that, Prabowo received a report of funds around Rp 39 trillion whose ownership status is unclear and still stored in several bank accounts. According to him, the money is suspected to originate from alleged corruptors or criminals who have fled or died.
“And I also received a report that there is approximately Rp 39 trillion in funds that are unclear,” he said.
“The corruptors or criminals might have fled Indonesia or died, leaving the money in unclear accounts, right?” Prabowo continued.
Prabowo joked by mentioning the possibility that the families or heirs of the account owners do not know about the existence of the money.
“Maybe he has many young wives or mistresses, so his wives, heirs, don’t know that he has money in those banks. It has been unhandled for years,” he said.
