Prabowo Delighted: No More Ministry Anniversary Budgets, Just a Tumpeng Ceremony

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that his administration will continue to prioritise budget efficiency. He has instructed all ministries and agencies to economise.

“We will implement this with discipline. There must be no projects that are large in budget but small in benefit. There must be no incentives without new jobs. There must be no investment without technology transfer,” he stated during the Submission of the 2027 State Budget Bill and Financial Note on Friday (14/8/2026).

He added that every rupiah must have a purpose, every policy must have a measure, and every official must be accountable.

Consequently, he has requested that all levels of government be efficient at every tier. All expenditure must be efficient. Prabowo also expressed his delight that there is no longer a budget allocation for ministry anniversaries.

“A ministry anniversary is enough with a tumpeng cutting ceremony in the office,” he said.

However, he confirmed that a centralised celebration for Independence Day remains compulsory.
