Prabowo Delighted as Rp 31.3 Trillion in State Funds Saved Since Becoming President
“We are here today at the handover ceremony for the results of financial and state asset recovery, as well as the collection of administrative fines for 2026 amounting to Rp 11,420,104,815,858, my fellow citizens. This is an honour and a joy for me that this has happened repeatedly in the government I lead, which has only been in place for 1.5 years,” said Prabowo in his speech at the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (10/4/2026).
Prabowo detailed that during October 2025, his administration had already saved a total of Rp 31.3 trillion in state funds. One source of these savings came from criminal corruption cases.
“In October 2025, we successfully saved Rp 13.255 trillion in state funds in the criminal corruption case involving the granting of facilities for crude palm oil exports and their derivatives. Just two months later, in December 2025, we again succeeded in saving Rp 6.625 trillion, and today, 10 April, we have saved Rp 11.420 trillion,” he stated.
“Thus, the total cash we have successfully saved up to today is Rp 31.3 trillion,” he added.
According to him, the saved funds will benefit the public. He said the money could be used to repair schools and renovate homes for low-income citizens.
“This is a very large amount; if we imagine, with this money we could repair 34,000 of our schools across Indonesia. Last year we only managed to repair 17,000 schools, meaning this money could double the state budget,” he said.
He stated that the recovery of these funds will benefit 2 million low-income citizens. According to him, the money could be used to repair hundreds of thousands of people’s homes.
“It can also be imagined if it helps with home renovations for low-income citizens; this could repair more than 500,000 homes, meaning it can benefit 2 million of our low-income citizens,” he said.
It is known that in the room where Prabowo gave his speech, a mountain of money was displayed. The stack of money was arranged into a kind of pyramid backdrop.
The trillions in seized funds were placed in clear plastic bags containing Rp 100,000 denominations. At the top centre of the stack, there was a sign indicating the total value of the money amounting to Rp 11,420,104,815,858 trillion that will enter the state treasury.
As is known, in October 2025, the Attorney General’s Office had seized money worth Rp 13,255,244,538,149 related to the corruption case of crude palm oil (CPO) export approvals for palm oil in the 2021-2022 period. Then in December 2025, the Attorney General’s Office also handed over Rp 6,625,294,190,469.74 to the state through Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.”
