Prabowo: Danantara leadership deserves state honours
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the leadership of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) deserves to receive state honours for the various achievements it has attained, including improving the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
“As an example, Danantara’s achievements are, in my view, a source of pride. I believe Danantara’s leadership deserves to receive state honours from the country,” Prabowo said at the launch and groundbreaking ceremony for the 100 GWp solar power plant programme in Jembrana, Bali, on Tuesday.
According to Prabowo, Danantara’s performance is one of the proudest achievements, particularly because of the significant increase in the earnings of a number of SOEs in less than two years.
Prabowo said the earnings of SOEs have increased by hundreds of per cent during that period. In fact, a number of SOEs that had previously suffered losses for more than a decade, or even decades, are now beginning to record profits.
“Several SOEs that were loss-making for more than ten years, for decades, are now starting to turn a profit. The increases are sometimes beyond what we could have predicted,” he said.
The Head of State said these achievements cannot be separated from the leadership and integrity of Danantara’s management in managing state assets.
“This is because of leadership, because Danantara’s leadership is honest and has a great love for the homeland,” Prabowo said.
The President stressed that the management of all national assets and wealth must be carried out optimally, honestly, and grounded in a sense of responsibility and love for the people.
Prabowo said the government continues to strive to consolidate the country’s strength by ensuring that all national assets are managed as well as possible.
Prabowo also affirmed that the government will continue to tighten the management of state finances and eradicate various forms of budget leakage.
“We are not satisfied yet. We must be even stricter in managing all finances,” Prabowo said.
A number of state officials accompanied President Prabowo at the event, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and concurrently CEO of Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono.
Also present were Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, President Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of Pertamina Simon Aloysius Mantiri, Chief Technology Officer of Danantara Sigit P. Santosa, and Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster.
