Prabowo: Dams and B50 proof of real work towards a prosperous Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that the construction of five dams and Indonesia’s successful implementation of B50 are tangible proof of the government’s hard work in managing the nation’s wealth to achieve a prosperous Indonesia. In his speech during the inauguration of the Meninting Dam in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, President Prabowo linked the infrastructure development to the government’s achievements in strengthening national energy independence. A day earlier, the President launched the implementation of B50, making Indonesia the first country in the world capable of producing diesel fuel with a 50 percent palm oil blend. “The five dams we inaugurate today represent a state investment of approximately Rp9.79 trillion. Yesterday was a very historic day; I launched Indonesia as the first country in the world that can make diesel from vegetable matter, from palm oil,” said President Prabowo, monitored online from Jakarta on Friday. The President assessed that the success of infrastructure development and the strengthening of energy independence are the results of policies oriented towards the people’s interests. Therefore, the government will continue to prioritise budget management efficiency and strengthen clean governance so that more state resources can be utilised for development. “What we are fighting for is to achieve prosperity for the Indonesian people by reducing, and if possible eliminating, corruption, making savings, and implementing efficiency. This is our struggle for a prosperous Indonesia,” President Prabowo asserted.
