Prabowo Criticises Observers Who Dislike Government Success: We Will Restore Order
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that there are observers who dislike the success of his administration. According to him, these observers feel disadvantaged by his government.
He made these remarks while leading a Full Cabinet Session (SKP) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026. Prabowo was responding to a statement by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who mentioned that some parties claim Indonesia’s economy is experiencing a crisis.
“Yes, there are various kinds of observers, and in my view there are observers who do not like their own government to succeed for various motivations. But in my opinion, their attitude is a narrow attitude, not a patriotic attitude,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo viewed such parties as no different from those engaged in corruption against the state. He then asserted that he would restore order amongst them.
“Perhaps because they feel defeated, have no power, or certain parties have lost income, especially thieves and corrupt officials—of course they feel disadvantaged by our government. We want to restore order,” he stated.
Prabowo subsequently alluded to having access to intelligence data as president. He claimed that certain groups are financing the observers in question.
“Yes, I also have intelligence data, as before when I was outside the government, now as president I receive intelligence reports every day. So I understand, I already know who is financing them. When the time comes, we will restore order amongst them all. But for now, we are still trying through convincing methods,” he said.
