President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that the practice of corruption and abuse of power must be eliminated because it contradicts religious values and represents a serious threat to national progress. This statement was delivered by the President whilst attending the state-level commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an in the year 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE at the State Palace in Jakarta.

In his address, Prabowo stressed that no nation can achieve progress if its government is unable to cleanse itself of corrupt practices.

“Indeed, we must eliminate corruption, embezzlement, all practices that are incorrect and improper and prohibited by all religions. This is religious teaching, and it is also the teaching of history. There is no successful nation when its government cannot cleanse itself of corruption,” the President stated.

He also reminded the nation that Indonesia possesses vast natural wealth that should be utilised to improve public welfare.

“We have been given by the Almighty enormous wealth. We must work hard to eliminate poverty, hunger, and suffering from all our people. We must not allow any of our people to be neglected,” Prabowo said.

He emphasised that the government will not allow certain parties to seize state wealth for personal or group interests.

“We must not be defeated by those who wish to take the people’s wealth, take it to other countries, and keep the Indonesian nation and people in a weakened state,” he continued.

On this occasion, the head of state also invited all elements of society, including religious scholars, to unite and cooperate in achieving the welfare of the Indonesian people. He requested support and prayers from all society so that the government can carry out efforts to improve economic conditions and uphold justice.

“Let us unite, let us work hard, let us secure and save all our people. I ask for your continued prayers, I ask for your support. We will succeed, we will excel, and we will overcome all difficulties,” the President said.

Prabowo also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prosecuting those who have damaged the national economy and ensuring that the law is enforced fairly.

“We will eradicate those who damage our economy. We will face them and we will uphold truth and justice,” he concluded.
