Prabowo Convenes Nine Ministers Meeting at Hambalang
President Prabowo Subianto convened nine cabinet ministers at Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, for a meeting at his private residence.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting took place on Monday, 9 March 2026. “President Prabowo Subianto received several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet at Hambalang to discuss national strategic measures and preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” Teddy said in a written statement.
According to Teddy, there were two main agenda items for this meeting. First, he said, was a discussion on the progress of self-sufficiency programmes. Prabowo evaluated the food self-sufficiency and energy and oil self-sufficiency programmes with the ministers.
The second discussion concerned preparations for Eid al-Fitr. “Ensuring the availability of foodstuffs and liquefied petroleum gas supply ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” Teddy said.
At least nine ministers attended the meeting at Hambalang on Monday. These were Minister of Coordinating Affairs for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman.
Also present were Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid; Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto; Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin; and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
Besides the ministers, the meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
On Sunday, 8 March 2026, President Prabowo also held a meeting at his Hambalang residence. Prabowo led five meetings at his private home over the previous weekend.
In those five meetings, Prabowo requested that ministers report on strategic issues at home and abroad. Each meeting, he said, had a different topic.
The first meeting discussed cooperation for constructing ten new universities in the country. The second meeting addressed development of existing universities in Indonesia.
The third meeting discussed the situation in the Middle East, a region experiencing turmoil following military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran that killed several leaders of the Gulf nations.
The fourth meeting addressed developments regarding Palestinian students attending the Defence University. The final meeting discussed security and the smooth operation of homecoming travel ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
