Prabowo Convenes Ministers to Discuss Food and Fuel Stock Ahead of Eid

President Prabowo Subianto convened several ministers at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta this afternoon for a limited meeting to discuss food and fuel availability ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

The ministers attending the palace meeting included Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Brian Yuliarto, Head of the Development Control and Special Investigation Agency (Bappisus) Aris Marsudiyanto, and Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo.

Bahlil stated that the meeting discussed preparations for Eid al-Fitr, particularly regarding food availability and fuel supplies, as well as anticipating the impact of Middle East escalation.

“But my sense is that it still relates to Eid al-Fitr preparations and food availability, then fuel, and also how to respond to current developments regarding tensions in the Middle East,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

“Because we know that yesterday fuel prices rose to above USD 100 per barrel and today they have already fallen below USD 100 per barrel, around USD 80–90. So there is indeed very rapid fluctuation,” he said.

Similarly, Zulhas said the meeting would discuss Eid preparations. He assured that food conditions remain safe so far.

“It’s probably about Eid preparations, I will explain after the meeting. Food is secure, hopefully prices remain affordable,” he said.
