President Prabowo Subianto convened a meeting with his former military aides and security personnel who previously accompanied him whilst on active service in the military. The gathering took place at his private residence in Hambalang on Sunday, 8 March.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting served as an occasion for Prabowo to reconnect with soldiers who had worked alongside him decades earlier. This was particularly true of his time serving at the Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) and the Special Forces Command (Kopassus).

“President Prabowo Subianto called upon and reconnected with all his former aides and security personnel from his service at Kostrad and Kopassus, or when he was still active in the Armed Forces 30 years ago. This reconnection took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang on Sunday, 8 March 2026,” Teddy stated in his written remarks cited on Monday, 9 March.

According to Teddy, the former aides and security personnel have pursued varying career paths. Some remain active as soldiers within the Indonesian Armed Forces, whilst others have entered retirement.

“Some of these aides and security personnel remain active in the Armed Forces currently. There are also those who have retired but are employed at his private companies,” Teddy explained.

The meeting proceeded in a relaxed atmosphere. The former security personnel also shared stories about their lives after ceasing to serve alongside Prabowo.

One notable narrative that emerged during the meeting concerned Prabowo’s attentiveness towards the families of soldiers who had previously accompanied him, particularly regarding their children’s education.

“Not only that. One of them also recounted that his son, who was educated by the President, has now become a university graduate and secured employment,” Teddy concluded.
