Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto convened a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, summoning several ministers and senior state officials.

The officials who attended included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, and Head of the Development Oversight and Special Investigation Agency (Bappisus) Aries Marsudiyanto.

The officials arrived around 14:00 Western Indonesian Time and immediately entered the palace grounds to attend the meeting with the President. Several officials acknowledged they did not know the detailed agenda for the discussion.

Bappisus Head Aries Marsudiyanto said he was called to discuss matters with the President but did not elaborate on the topics to be addressed. “I don’t know what it’s about, but I was called, so there must be something. Of course, there’s something we need to discuss with him. But in principle, everything is fine,” Aries told journalists at the palace complex.

He stated that the nation’s food and energy situation was currently secure and stocks were deemed sufficient. “Food supplies are all available. Energy and fuel, no need to worry. Stocks are okay, everything is adequate,” he said.

Aries also stated that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remained strong, leaving no reason for concern about the nation’s economic condition. “There’s no problem; Indonesia’s economic fundamentals are strong. I’ve already communicated this to other ministers. I think that’s it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa emphasised the importance of close coordination between the government and Bank Indonesia in maintaining rupiah exchange rate stability amid global market dynamics. “If we ensure good economic development, sufficient money in the system, and BI monitors the exchange rate situation, close cooperation between the government and BI is necessary to maintain exchange rate stability,” said Purbaya.

He added that solid coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities would help mitigate the impact of global market turbulence. “If we work together like this, controlling global market fluctuations won’t be too difficult,” he said.

The limited meeting was held in closed session amid ongoing global economic dynamics and market fluctuations that have been attracting government attention. As of the time this report was submitted, no official statement regarding decisions or outcomes from the meeting had been released.
