Prabowo Convenes Cabinet Ministers at Hambalang to Strengthen Food and Energy Security Amid Global Crisis
President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto convened a series of limited meetings with several Cabinet ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (9 March). The meeting discussed strategic measures related to national self-sufficiency and preparations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijra.
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the Hambalang meeting was part of the government’s intensive coordination to evaluate priority programmes. Two main agendas formed the focus of discussion in the marathon session.
The first agenda was a thorough evaluation of progress on the national self-sufficiency programme. President Prabowo emphasised the importance of acceleration in the food and energy sectors, including national oil sovereignty.
“The President is evaluating the development of food self-sufficiency and energy self-sufficiency programmes, as well as oil,” said Seskab Teddy in his official statement.
The second agenda directly related to the needs of communities ahead of Eid 2026. The President instructed the line ministers to maintain price stability and stock availability in the market.
“The government wants to ensure the availability of food supplies and LPG provisions ahead of Eid al-Fitr remain secure for all communities,” he added.
This meeting was a continuation of a series of internal meetings held by President Prabowo since Sunday (8 March), which also discussed global geopolitical dynamics and strengthening STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based education in Indonesia.
With the presence of Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and a range of technical ministers, this meeting was expected to produce fiscal and operational policies that could quickly respond to current global economic challenges.
