Prabowo Convenes Business Leaders at the Palace: What Was Discussed?
President Prabowo Subianto gathered business leaders from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) at the State Palace, alongside several cabinet ministers.
According to observations on Friday (31/07/2026), Kadin officials began arriving at 13:30 WIB. Kadin Chairman Anindya Bakrie stated that leaders from Kadin branches across 38 provinces attended the meeting.
“Yes, today, we from Kadin arrived alongside the Kadin leaders from 38 provinces. Upon receiving the invitation from the President, they flew in from places including Papua, West Papua, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and Aceh. We wish to discuss how we can work together to boost regional economies,” Anindya told reporters upon arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.
In addition to Kadin, Anindya noted that 30 other associations and unions were in attendance. He mentioned that this meeting serves as a continuation of discussions held during a previous meeting in August 2025.
“There are also 30 associations and unions present. The discussion should be very interesting. This follows up on our discussion with the President last year in August 2025, when we were invited to Hambalang before his working meeting,” he said.
He added that the meeting addressed the need to prepare for current economic and geopolitical conditions. “We are looking at how we can sit together to address this. From our travels across the regions, we see that everyone is seeking solutions and remains optimistic, but smoother and better communication is required.”
Several ministers were also in attendance, including Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kertasasmita, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cooperatives Minister Fery Juliantono.
