President Prabowo Subianto gathered participants of the Presidential Future Leaders Program (PFLP) at Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday, 24 May 2026. The PFLP this year is organised by the Ministry of Defence to train 400 state-owned enterprise (BUMN) employees over nine months.

Prabowo delivered a briefing to the PFLP participants at Hambalang, which is also the President’s private residence. “The PFLP is designed to support President Prabowo’s vision of establishing good BUMN governance through strengthening human resources with the best heart and best mind,” according to the Cabinet Secretariat.

The nine-month PFLP education programme is divided into three phases: character and discipline building for three months; managerial and decision-making capacity strengthening at Danantara Corporate University for four months; and a two-month internship at ministries, institutions, or within BUMN environments.

“This step is part of the government’s broader strategy to prepare professional, integrity-driven BUMN leaders capable of addressing Indonesia’s future challenges,” the Cabinet Secretariat stated.

The 400 BUMN employees attending Prabowo’s briefing at Hambalang are the first batch of PFLP participants. In photos released by the Cabinet Secretariat, participants were seen sitting in an auditorium wearing black uniforms, with male participants having shaved heads.

The Ministry of Defence launched the first batch of the 2026 fiscal year PFLP for BUMN employees at the TNI Training Command (Kodiklat) in Serpong, Banten, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto explained that the PFLP is designed to support President Prabowo’s vision of improving BUMN governance.

Donny stated that the government aims to establish a total defence system involving all national components, including the youth. He added that the PFLP, which selected 400 participants from thousands of applicants, aims to shape leadership character as a foundation for future BUMN management.
