Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Tuban Regency, East Java, on Saturday to attend a corn harvest event held simultaneously on agricultural land managed by the Indonesian National Police across various regions for the second quarter of 2026.

President Prabowo, who departed from Nganjuk Regency for the inauguration of 1,061 Merah Putih Village/Urban Cooperative (KDKMP) units, was welcomed by the Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri), Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, and senior officials from the National Police Headquarters.

After that, President Prabowo, accompanied by the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, received a report on the corn agricultural land managed by the National Police.

At the event location, President Prabowo also listened to a presentation on the use of special fertilizers and hybrid corn seeds used by the National Police in its managed agricultural areas.

The harvest event in Tuban Regency is the third in President Prabowo’s series of working visits in East Java. In Tuban, in addition to witnessing the harvest, the President also witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony for 10 SPPG (Strategic Food Reserves) warehouses and the operational launch of 166 SPPG units managed by the National Police.

In the corn harvest event for the second quarter of 2026 on agricultural land managed by the National Police, 36 regional police forces are involved, with a total land area of 189,760.36 hectares. Of this amount, 1,608.76 hectares of corn agricultural land were harvested simultaneously today.

The corn agricultural land managed by the East Java Regional Police is the largest in today’s harvest event, covering an area of 650.56 hectares, while the total area for the second quarter of 2026 is 43,201.82 hectares.

Furthermore, the groundbreaking ceremony for 10 police-managed food security warehouses has a capacity of 1,000 tons each. These warehouses are located in the regions of West Sumatra, Riau, South Sumatra (two units), Bengkulu, Banten, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi (two units), and North Maluku.

Meanwhile, the 166 SPPG units of the National Police, launched in conjunction with the harvest event, are spread across the working areas of the Aceh Regional Police (two SPPGs), the Bali Regional Police (two SPPGs), the Banten Regional Police (39 SPPGs), and the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (two SPPGs).

In addition, there are the Gorontalo Regional Police (one SPPG), the Jambi Regional Police (six SPPGs), the West Java Regional Police (11 SPPGs), the Central Java Regional Police (16 SPPGs), the East Java Regional Police (10 SPPGs), the West Kalimantan Regional Police (one SPPG), the South Kalimantan Regional Police (two SPPGs).
