Prabowo Continues Official Trip to Seoul

President Prabowo Subianto continued his official trip to Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. Prabowo arrived in the capital of the Republic of Korea on Tuesday evening after previously visiting Tokyo, Japan.

Prabowo arrived in South Korea aboard Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft, which landed at Seongnam Military Air Base around 19:15 local time. Upon arrival in Seongnam, the President was officially welcomed through a honour ceremony.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo received honours from an honour guard consisting of 20 personnel. The welcoming procession was also enlivened by 21 cannon salvos as a form of state honour.

After receiving the honour ceremony, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment of the Republic of Korea, Kim Sungwhan, the Designated Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Yoon Soongu, and the Head of State Protocol of the Republic of Korea, Kim Tae-jin.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea, Cecep Herawan, and the Indonesian Defence Attaché in Seoul, Colonel Pilot Muhammad Arif, also joined in the welcome. From Seongnam, Prabowo continued his journey to the capital, Seoul.

During his stay in Seoul, President Prabowo is scheduled to undertake a series of state visits, including a welcoming ceremony by the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, at the Blue House. Cheong Wa Dae, meaning Blue House, is the presidential office of the Republic of Korea.

The visit to South Korea is part of President Prabowo’s series of official trips to the East Asia region. Previously, Prabowo was in Japan from 29 to 31 March. Prabowo is scheduled to be in South Korea until 1 April.

In Japan, Prabowo met several high-ranking officials, including Emperor Naruhito of Japan, who hosted Prabowo at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who hosted the presidential delegation at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo.
