Prabowo Congratulates on Dharma Santi 2026: Hindu Community, Let Us Firmly Uphold "Tri Hita Karana"

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has conveyed congratulations on celebrating Dharma Santi 2026 to all Hindus in Indonesia.

“On this auspicious occasion, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of myself and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, extend our congratulations on celebrating Dharma Santi Year 2026 to all Hindus in the country,” said Prabowo, in a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, on Friday night (17/4/2026).

Prabowo also expressed respect to Hindus throughout the country and invited them to offer praise and gratitude to the Almighty God.

“As pious individuals, let us offer praise and gratitude to the presence of the Almighty God, Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, for through His grace and blessings, we can commemorate Dharma Santi Year 2026, the New Year of Saka 1948, in a state of health and full of spirit for togetherness and peace,” he stated.

Prabowo then emphasised the importance of the spirit of harmony and unity following the Nyepi celebration, as well as noble values in life.

“Dharma Santi is a moment for mutual forgiveness, strengthening brotherhood, and reinforcing dharma values in our lives. After Nyepi, we step forward together in the spirit of harmony, peace, and unity. The values of Tat Twam Asi, living with mutual respect and balance, are the strength of our nation,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo affirmed Indonesia’s identity as a great nation that upholds diversity.

Prabowo conveyed his belief in the contributions of the Hindu community in maintaining social harmony and national unity.

“I believe that Indonesian Hindus have and will continue to be an important part in maintaining social harmony, national unity, and continuing to build an Indonesia that is just, prosperous, and stands firmly on its own feet,” said Prabowo.

“For the Hindu community, let us always reaffirm and firmly uphold Tri Hita Karana. Maintaining relationships with fellow humans, with nature, and with God. We maintain togetherness, we strengthen national unity, and let us together build a just and prosperous Indonesia,” added Prabowo.
