Prabowo Confirmed to Attend PKB's 28th Anniversary Celebration Today
Jakarta – National Awakening Party (PKB) Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto will attend the peak celebration of the party’s 28th anniversary. The event is scheduled to take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 23 July 2026. Cak Imin stated he had met with the President and received direct confirmation of his attendance. “Yes, I met with the President earlier, God willing, the President will attend tomorrow. Definitely,” Cak Imin told reporters in the Kota Tua area of Jakarta.
Prior to the main celebration, Cak Imin inaugurated the party’s regional leadership structures. A total of 514 PKB District Leadership Council (DPC) chairpersons for the 2026-2031 period were officially sworn in under the historic laser lights of the Kota Tua area. They were selected through a rigorous process from a pool of 1,816 candidates. The selection involved competency and feasibility tests conducted with psychologists from higher education institutions and professional psychology bodies.
In his address, Cak Imin emphasised that the new appointments bring fresh energy to the party, describing the new leaders as having been tested both mentally and spiritually. “New leaders, new energy. New leaders, new spirit. New leaders, chosen not for nothing, but through a serious selection process. At the very least, you have passed the Psychological Feasibility Test,” he said. He explained that the use of psychological experts in the selection process reflects PKB’s commitment to preparing quality leaders, rather than relying solely on political popularity. “We are not careless, not playing around. Not just because of electoral democracy, because in elections, the unhealthy ones might get chosen. This is the seriousness and commitment of PKB in preparing leaders, preparing warriors who will become the main force,” Cak Imin stated. The Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment also urged all newly appointed officials to recognise the significant responsibility they now carry.
