President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed his commitment to elevating the relationship between Indonesia and Thailand to a higher level. During a bilateral meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Prabowo stated that both nations possess strong economic capital to expand strategic cooperation, including resolving existing trade barriers. He noted that the long-standing and excellent diplomatic relations serve as a crucial foundation for accelerating collaboration across various sectors. Prabowo expressed his hope to work closely with PM Anutin and his government to further strengthen the long-established strategic partnership. He assessed that as two major economic powers within ASEAN, Indonesia and Thailand have significant potential to complement each other, supported by large populations and shared key commodities such as rubber and tin. The President conveyed his optimism that bilateral relations can continue to develop in all fields, from trade and investment to other strategic sectors.
