Prabowo confident PDIP will join government to safeguard the nation
President Prabowo Subianto is confident that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) will eventually join the government and other political forces in safeguarding the nation and state. “I believe all parties in the coalition are already heading in this direction and are with me,” Prabowo said during a national address at the 28th anniversary celebration of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Jakarta on Thursday evening. Prabowo conveyed this conviction while explaining the importance of national unity in managing Indonesia’s natural resources so that the benefits are felt by the public and do not flow abroad. According to him, all political parties and elements of the nation fundamentally share the same aspiration to realise prosperity for the Indonesian people. He stated that differences of opinion and criticism in political dynamics are normal and can be interpreted as efforts to remind one another for the common good. Prabowo is optimistic that all major political forces in Indonesia will ultimately unite to defend the country’s sovereignty. “And in the end, I believe PDIP will also be with us defending the state and nation, that is my instinct,” the President said.
