Prabowo Confident Indonesia Will Rise, Tells Pessimists to 'Stay Home'

President Prabowo Subianto has conveyed his confidence in Indonesia’s future. Prabowo is optimistic that Indonesia will advance under his leadership.

He made the remarks during the commemoration of the 79th National Cooperative Day at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Sunday (12 July 2026). Prabowo said Indonesia’s progress is determined, among other things, by unity across all elements of society.

“Indonesia will rise, and Indonesia will be able to strengthen all the strengths within this Republic of Indonesia,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo admitted that he still often hears voices expressing a bleak view of Indonesia’s future. He then delivered a message to those who feel that way.

“Those who have doubts, please just stay at home. Those who feel Indonesia is bleak, feel free to look for another country if they wish. Nobody is stopping you,” he said.

Prabowo then called on the public to unite. He reminded Indonesians of the noble culture of gotong royong, or mutual cooperation.

“Here in Indonesia, I ask that we unite, that we practise gotong royong, that we work together. The strong help the weak, and the weak cooperate in good faith,” said Prabowo.

He added that no nation can progress if its citizens remain consumed by discord. Prabowo once again emphasised the importance of a sense of unity.

“Let us return to the character of the Indonesian nation: forgiving one another, understanding one another, loving one another, helping one another. Do not follow the culture of insults, the culture of envy, the culture of suspicion. There is no success in conflict, none at all,” Prabowo concluded.
