Prabowo Confident Indonesia Will Rise, Tells Pessimists to 'Stay Home'

President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his confidence in Indonesia’s future, stating his optimism that the nation will advance under his administration. He made the remarks during the 79th National Cooperative Day commemoration at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Sunday (12/7/2026). Prabowo said Indonesia’s progress is determined, in part, by unity across all elements of society. “Indonesia will rise and Indonesia will be able to strengthen all forces within this Republic,” Prabowo stated. Prabowo admitted he still often hears voices claiming Indonesia’s future is bleak. He delivered a message to those who feel that way. “Those who are doubtful, just stay at home. Those who feel Indonesia is bleak, if you want to look for another country, go ahead. No one is stopping you,” he said. Prabowo then urged the public to unite, reminding them of Indonesia’s noble culture of gotong royong and cooperation. “In Indonesia, please let us unite, let us work together, let us cooperate. The strong help the weak, the weak cooperate well,” Prabowo said. He added that no nation can progress if its citizens are filled with disputes. Prabowo reiterated the importance of having a sense of unity. “Let us return to the nature of the Indonesian people, which is to forgive one another, understand one another, love one another, and help one another. Do not follow a culture of insulting, a culture of envy, a culture of suspicion. There is no success with strife, none,” Prabowo concluded.
