JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is confident Indonesia will not become a nation begging for foreign aid if it implements the principles of Pancasila economics.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia must earnestly implement Pancasila in politics, law, society, culture, and the economy. If successfully implemented, Indonesia will become a respected nation.

“I am confident Indonesia will not only become a developed and prosperous nation, but also earn respect from other nations due to its people’s well-being,” Prabowo said during his address at the Pancasila Birth Anniversary ceremony at the Pancasila Building in Central Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026.

“A prosperous nation due to its justice. A great nation due to its humanity. A nation capable of being a force for global peace. A nation that does not beg for aid but can assist other nations,” he added.

Therefore, he urged all citizens to practice Pancasila’s values.

He also stated that Pancasila economics is an economy that prioritises national and public interests. This economy must not benefit only a select few. Pancasila economics is also an egalitarian or people-centric economy.

The framework for this economy is clearly outlined in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. Indonesia’s economy is structured as a collective effort based on the principle of kinship.

“Let us safeguard Pancasila, put its values into practice, and realise an Indonesia that is just, prosperous, sovereign, and dignified,” he concluded.
