Prabowo Concludes Paris Visit, Returns to Jakarta
President Prabowo Subianto has concluded his visit to Paris from 27 to 29 May 2026. He has now returned to Jakarta. At Orly Airport in Paris on Friday (29/5) local time, Garuda Indonesia flight PK-GIF took off for Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta. The President was accompanied by a limited delegation, including Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
The Presidential Secretariat confirmed in a statement released on Friday night that President Prabowo’s departure from Orly Airport was marked by a military ceremony. He received military honours from a guard of honour standing on either side of the red carpet.
The President’s arrival at Orly Airport was greeted by the Minister for Francophone Affairs, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad, and Paris Military Governor General Loic Mizon. Caroit accompanied President Prabowo along the red carpet to the aircraft steps.
Other officials present at the departure included French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and Defence Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, Air Marshal Hendra Gunawan.
“The departure ceremony was conducted with solemnity as a mark of respect from the French Republic to the Indonesian Head of State,” stated the Presidential Secretariat.
During his state visit to Paris, President Prabowo began his agenda with a state welcome ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
He then attended a state dinner hosted by President Macron. During his visit, President Prabowo also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with Indonesian citizens and the diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris.
