Prabowo Commissions Military and Police Academy Graduates as Officers

President Prabowo Subianto has commissioned graduates of the Military Academy and the Police Academy as officers. A total of 1,177 new graduates received their first ranks in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri).

The commissioning ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. “I congratulate you all who have been officially appointed as TNI and Polri officers in 2026,” said President Prabowo Subianto while presiding over the ceremony.

Prabowo administered the oath to all the junior officer candidates during the procession. The President, acting as the inspector of the ceremony, read out the oath containing a pledge to serve the nation and state in accordance with the law.

This year’s commissioning was attended by 1,177 junior officer candidates, or capaja, who had just completed their education. A total of 512 came from the Military Academy, 229 from the Naval Academy, 154 from the Air Force Academy, and 282 from the Police Academy. The ceremony was also attended by more than four thousand family members of the officer candidates.

Prabowo also pinned the Adhi Makayasa officer rank insignia onto four junior officers. This rank signifies their status as the top graduates. They are Calvin Tidar Sakti (Military Academy), M Rizqi Wira Utama (Naval Academy), Yehezkiel Bonaventura Y (Air Force Academy), and Harindra Arshando T (Police Academy).

The commissioning procession for junior officers is known as the Prasetya Perwira Ceremony. This agenda is routinely held every year as part of the final stage of cadet education at the military and police academies.

In this year’s procession, the Prasetya Perwira Ceremony was also attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Also present were TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the chiefs of staff of the army, navy, and air force.
