Prabowo Claims There Are "Untouchable" Directors General and Unauditable State Institutions
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that there are several officials who consider themselves untouchable, as well as state institutions that cannot be audited.
Prabowo emphasised that these officials and institutions will be cleansed during his administration.
“There are directors general who feel untouchable. There are institutions that feel they cannot be audited,” said Prabowo during a discussion with journalists and experts that aired on Thursday (19/3/2026), quoted from Kompas TV.
“We have found a deep state, we have found directors general who dare to oppose the minister. In the end, we dismissed many directors general,” stated Prabowo.
The Head of State emphasised that the step to cleanse these officials and institutions is not easy.
However, he committed to cleaning up those rogue officials.
“This is what I’m doing, this is no light task. But I don’t want to complain every little bit, or seek public sympathy every little bit. This is my job, I was inaugurated for this, I will clean it up,” he said.
On this occasion, Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the law for the Indonesian people.
“I’m cleaning up the BUMNs. The BUMNs have been one of our biggest leaks so far,” he said.
