Prabowo Claims PDIP 'Shares the Same Heart' as His Government

President Prabowo Subianto has spoken about the political coalition landscape under his administration, specifically addressing the position of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). He claimed that PDIP essentially shares the same aspirations as his government.

“So, brothers and sisters, competing is good. Contesting is good. Sometimes we part ways, that is not a problem,” Prabowo said during his speech at the 28th anniversary celebration of the National Awakening Party (PKB) at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday evening (23/7/2026).

“PDIP, in truth, shares the same heart as us. Really, just check, dig into their hearts. It is actually the same,” he stated.

Prabowo invoked the constitution formulated by the nation’s Founding Fathers, including Sukarno, who is synonymous with the white-snouted bull party. He argued that this proves his administration and PDIP are aligned in building the nation.

“This 1945 Constitution was created by Bung Karno, Bung Hatta, our nation’s founders. Their hearts are the same,” he remarked.

He also joked that PDIP simply had not yet produced a decision similar to the Ijtima Ulama agreement made by PKB, one of his coalition partners. “It’s just that they haven’t made a recommendation like the Ijtima Ulama yet,” he said.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka was also in attendance at PKB’s 28th anniversary celebration. Party chairpersons present included Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, Democrat Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), PKS President Al Muzammil Yusuf, and PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas).

Also seen were party elites such as Gerindra Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, NasDem Treasurer Ahmad Sahroni, PAN Secretary General Eko Patrio, Golkar Treasurer Sari Yuliati, PDIP Central Board Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Democrat Secretary General Herman Khaeron, and PSI Deputy Chair Isyana Bagoes Oka.
