Prabowo Claims Many Ministers Hospitalised Due to Exhaustion from Hard Work

President Prabowo Subianto has revealed the high work intensity of government officials in pursuing various national priority programmes, claiming that a number of ministers and high-ranking state officials have been hospitalised due to exhaustion from working non-stop. The statement was made during a speech at a mass harvest event supporting the food security programme at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base in Malang Regency, East Java, on Friday, 17 July 2026. He expressed pride in the work ethic of the ministers, the Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander, and the National Police Chief, who are all moving quickly. “We are chasing targets. The people have experienced a life that is not befitting a large and rich nation like ours for too long,” Prabowo said. He stressed that the government is determined to do its best to achieve the highest goals as quickly as possible. The Gerindra Party chairman also asserted that Indonesia must not be known as a slow nation or a mere spectator in global competition, expressing optimism that the country can rise with its own strength, in line with the founders’ message of self-reliance.
