Prabowo Claims Indonesia Would Be Among the Safest Countries if World War 3 Breaks Out

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia would be among the safest countries if a third world war were to break out at some point in the future. Prabowo claimed that Indonesia ranks as one of the top safest countries. “Because, brothers and sisters, you know, when it comes out there. If World War 3 happens, which country is safe, eh, Indonesia is among the top ones,” said Prabowo during a briefing at the Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “Our plan is to create a special financial centre; we’re looking for a location,” he added. Meanwhile, Prabowo emphasised his confidence in the country. He also refuted claims that Indonesia is dark, stating that the country is bright. “I’m confident; there’s no such thing—for me, Indonesia being dark doesn’t exist. Indonesia is bright, at a time when many countries are struggling. If this doesn’t warrant applause, then don’t,” Prabowo added.
