Prabowo Claims He Always Involves Professors in Key Government Positions

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he always involves professors in key positions within the government to assist in finding solutions to the nation’s problems. He made the remarks while opening the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) in Jakarta on Friday. Prabowo noted that in almost every strategic government sector, there are professors occupying crucial roles in the policy-making process. He explained that the goal of the state is to achieve a decent and prosperous life for the people, requiring the government to face various challenges and find solutions. According to him, he has long recognised the importance of the role of scientists and professors in state administration, which is why they are involved in strategic fields. Prabowo assessed that a leader’s success is determined not only by the individual but also by the quality of the supporting team, emphasising that human resources are the primary factor over technology or equipment. He illustrated this by comparing it to football, where winning requires a good manager, coach, and support staff, not just the players. The President also expressed appreciation for the KSTI convention, which involves academics in discussing strategic national issues. The convention, running for three days, carries the theme of strategies for Indonesia’s economic independence and welfare, covering topics such as agriculture, energy, finance, food security, maritime affairs, and downstream industry.
