Prabowo Claims 121 Transformative Policies Implemented in 21 Months
President Prabowo Subianto claims his administration has adopted and implemented 121 transformative policies over the course of 21 months, or 663 days, since his inauguration on 20 October 2024. The policies are aimed at resolving national problems, most of which have persisted for decades.
He made the statement during a speech at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) in Jakarta on Friday (14/8). According to him, the figure shows the government has taken one transformative policy on average every five days.
“In 21 months, precisely 663 days to this day, the government I lead has decided and implemented 121 transformative policies to solve the nation’s problems,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo acknowledged that a number of the issues tackled over the past 21 months were previously considered too complex to resolve. Nevertheless, he stressed he is not claiming that all the nation’s problems have been completely solved.
“I cannot yet say that all the nation’s problems are finished. Or that all the promises I made have been fulfilled, not yet. I am not saying finished, I am saying we have started to finish them,” he asserted.
In running the government, Prabowo outlined four main guidelines: implementing the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, protecting core national interests including the nation’s wealth, overcoming the people’s difficulties in a short time, and ensuring work orientation is for the benefit of the people and future generations.
Prabowo also touched on the extremely high workload of his ministers and aides in pursuing these targets. He revealed that several ministers have suffered serious physical exhaustion due to the demands of the job.
“So hard have the ministers and my aides worked, some of them have had to be hospitalised, some have fainted, had operations, many are exhausted,” he revealed.
He stressed that this hard work is a consequence of the people’s mandate, which must be carried out with full responsibility.
