“You all have been part of my administration over the last 1.5 years, and praise be to God, our government has been successful in controlling the development direction of our nation,” he told the audience at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Speaking at the palace’s central yard, Prabowo stressed that his leadership had enabled Indonesia to effectively address a range of challenges amid growing uncertainty stemming from souring geopolitics.

“We have managed to navigate dangerous matters. Over the past 1.5 years, our government has proven its effectiveness and reliability in exercising state duties,” the president affirmed.

He went on to say that the strong performance is reflected in various achievements that have delivered concrete impacts across multiple sectors nationwide.

However, the head of state underscored that he intended the large-scale meeting, also attended by leaders of state-owned enterprises, to outline strategic directives aimed at pushing government aides to continue improving performance in the face of evolving challenges.

In this regard, he warned bureaucrats of mounting risks from global disruptions affecting supplies of energy, food, and water, which he said could trigger crises in many countries, including Indonesia.

He also alerted aides to the downside of technological advancements, cautioning that Indonesia is not spared from the threats of hoaxes and manipulative digital content generated using artificial intelligence.

In his trademark white safari shirt and black peci hat, Prabowo opened the meeting at around 2 p.m. local time. Nearly all attendants matched his outfit, except military officials who attended in their uniforms.
