Prabowo Calls Palestinian President, Strengthening Solidarity on Eid al-Fitr

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto telephoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during the momentum of Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran 1447 Hijriah.

“President Prabowo has continued communication via telephone with leaders of friendly countries, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,” wrote Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement on Monday (23/3/2026) night.

Teddy stated that the communication is part of the rapport between leaders of friendly nations.

“This rapport is part of efforts to maintain closeness and strengthen cooperation between countries, especially during the meaningful Eid al-Fitr holiday,” Teddy continued.

He explained that President Prabowo is utilising the Eid al-Fitr momentum as an opportunity to reaffirm values of humanity, solidarity, and international brotherhood.

Moreover, since its independence, Indonesia has always positioned Palestine as a close friend with strong historical and emotional bonds.

Through this warm communication, Indonesia has once again affirmed its commitment to continue supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and encouraging the creation of peace and stability in the region.
