Prabowo Calls MBS, Urges Cessation of Military Action in Middle East

JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto telephoned Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, to discuss military escalation occurring in the Middle East.

This was disclosed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its X account on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

“His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today from President Prabowo Subianto of the Republic of Indonesia,” stated the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that Prabowo and MBS reviewed developments surrounding military escalation in the Middle East.

Prabowo called for the immediate cessation of conflict in the Middle East.

“The Indonesian President emphasised the need for an immediate halt to military action in the region, warning that such actions will damage the security and stability thereof,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry added.

Kompas.com attempted to contact Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi regarding Prabowo’s telephone call to MBS, but neither has yet responded.
