Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism that Indonesia is emerging as a “rising giant,” citing strong foundations and abundant natural resources.

“This giant is waking up. We will not be the sleeping giant anymore; we are rising,” he said while inaugurating an electric commercial vehicle assembly plant in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday.

“Indonesia’s outlook is bright. We are strong and becoming stronger; our growth is good,” he added.

According to an official statement, the president said Indonesia’s energy strength and natural resource wealth are key assets for navigating global uncertainty.

He also stressed the need to remain vigilant while maintaining optimism amid global challenges.

“Despite having strong and abundant resources, we must continue to save energy and transition to clean, renewable energy,” he said.

Prabowo emphasized that food and energy resilience will be critical for Indonesia’s future.

“If we want to remain independent and survive, we must be self-sufficient in key sectors, especially food and energy,” he said.
