President Prabowo Subianto has called for all elite elements across various sectors to unite. He stated that unity must occur across all lines, from politics and the economy to the arts.

Prabowo delivered this message during a speech before the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) at the State Palace in Jakarta. “All successful nations have elites that can work together. All failed nations have elites that quarrel,” he said on Friday, 31 July 2026.

He noted that nation-building is a cross-sectoral endeavour. Therefore, all types of elites need to unite. “What do we mean by elite? Elites are leadership elements. Thus, the nation’s elite includes the political elite, economic elite, intellectual elite, religious elite, cultural elite, artistic elite, producer elite, and labour elite. It is a kind of matrix,” he explained.

According to the Chairman of the Gerindra Party, the unity of elites is a valuable lesson from human history. He remarked that no nation has succeeded without the unity of its elite classes.

Prabowo stated that failed states often possess sufficient resources, yet their elites are unable to manage them. “The primary lesson we learn is that synergy and collaboration between elites are necessary,” he said.

Consequently, Prabowo expressed his gratitude to Kadin Indonesia, noting that they have shown a willingness to cooperate since the beginning of his administration. “From the start of the administration I lead, you have shown the intention to work together and fight together,” he said.

President Prabowo gathered entrepreneurs from Kadin Indonesia at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, with approximately 150 business leaders in attendance this Friday.

The Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakire, stated that leaders from Kadin across 38 provinces attended the President’s invitation. “They wish to discuss how we can collectively boost regional economies,” Anindya said at the Palace.

In addition to Kadin leaders, Anindya mentioned that the meeting was also attended by thirty business associations and unions. “Therefore, the discussion should be very interesting,” he added.

Previously, Anindya noted that Prabowo had invited Kadin entrepreneurs to his private residence in Hambalang, West Java, in August last year. At that time, Anindya conveyed that President Prabowo warned of the volatile global economic and geopolitical conditions, much like what is occurring now.
