Prabowo Calls for National Self-Reliance and Unity in Development Push

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that Indonesia must become a self-reliant nation and not remain complacent, urging all elements of society to unite in accelerating development and improving public welfare. Speaking during a simultaneous national harvest event, he stated, “We do not want to be a relaxed nation. We will prove to the world that Indonesia is rising with its own strength.” The President noted that the government is aware the people have long experienced hardships unworthy of a large and wealthy country. He stressed that he would not tolerate officials who harm the people and highlighted the importance of unity and compactness in managing the nation’s wealth for the benefit of its citizens. Prabowo also praised the hard work of ministers, the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri) in pursuing government targets, noting that many high-ranking officials have suffered exhaustion due to their intense workload. He stated that the simultaneous harvest event demonstrated that food security is a national movement involving all elements of the country, not just the Ministry of Agriculture. The President reiterated that the TNI and Polri are integral parts of the people and must always stand with them to overcome difficulties. He also warned that he would not tolerate those entrusted by the people who implement policies detrimental to them, including engaging in corruption.
