Prabowo Calls for Introspection Among Law Enforcement, Urges No Betrayal of Public Trust
President Prabowo Subianto is committed to consistently eradicating corruption to achieve clean, high-integrity governance that works entirely in the interest of the people. Head of the Government Communication Body (Bakom) RI, Muhammad Qodari, stated that President Prabowo has reminded all state apparatus, including the bureaucracy, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and the Attorney General’s Office, to continuously introspect and improve themselves. “All state apparatus must realise that they are public servants entrusted with the responsibility to work with full accountability. He (President Prabowo) emphasised that every state apparatus must maintain integrity and not betray the mandate given by the people,” Qodari said in a statement on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. In line with this, the government respects every legal process currently being undertaken by law enforcement agencies in handling cases that are of public concern. “Law enforcement must be carried out fairly, without discrimination based on position, rank, or power. No party should receive special treatment before the law,” Qodari stated. He added that the government believes every legal process has a mechanism that must be respected and carried out professionally in accordance with applicable regulations. “The government respects all ongoing legal processes and supports professional, transparent, and impartial law enforcement. It is important to understand that actions by individuals do not reflect the entire institution. Consistent law enforcement is part of the state’s commitment to strengthening clean and high-integrity governance,” he said. The government also urged all parties to uphold the principle of presumption of innocence in every legal process. This principle is important to prevent speculation or judgement until all processes have reached a final and binding legal conclusion. The government called on all elements of society to work together to maintain a conducive atmosphere, stability, and unity. Amidst various dynamics, national unity is the main asset to face various challenges. “With a safe atmosphere, mutual trust, and respect for the legal process, we can continue development and bring increasingly tangible prosperity to all Indonesian people,” he concluded.
