Prabowo Calls for Improved Rest Area Services During Eid Holiday Travel
President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto has instructed all government ministries and agencies to improve the quality of service at various transportation points ahead of the Eid holiday travel surge in 2026.
This directive was issued by Prabowo whilst opening the Full Cabinet Session at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The Head of State requested that all public services function optimally, particularly at locations that become crowded with people during the holiday travel season, such as rest areas, ports, airports, and railway stations.
“Furthermore, I request that the quality of service at rest areas, ports, airports, and all railway stations be improved. Ensure there are no uncontrolled queues. The availability of fuel, electricity supply, and internet connectivity should be maintained continuously and stably. This is our government’s second Eid celebration,” said Prabowo.
In addition, Prabowo also instructed several ministries to ensure that holiday allowances (THR) for state apparatus and bonuses for online transportation sector workers are distributed on time.
“Minister of Labour, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Investment, ensure that holiday allowances for all civil servants, both central and regional, are implemented on time. Also, holiday bonuses for online transportation sector workers—make certain that what we have determined reaches them, between 400,000 and 1.6 million rupiah per person. We are also grateful that under our government, online drivers receive holiday bonuses,” he said.
The former Defence Minister also gave special attention to food supply stability ahead of Eid. He instructed relevant ministries to ensure the availability of basic commodities remains secure and prices remain controlled.
“Minister of Coordinating Ministry for Food and Maritime Affairs, Minister of Trade, Minister of Agriculture, ensure that food supply is stable and secure and that prices remain under our control. Perhaps some ministers will present their reports later,” he stated.
In the tourism sector, Prabowo also requested the Minister of Tourism to actively promote domestic tourist destinations whilst directly monitoring conditions in the field during the Eid holiday period.
“Minister of Tourism, I request that you actively go to tourist attractions, encouraging and promoting every aspect of tourism in our country,” he concluded.
