Prabowo Brings Home Rp 401 Trillion! Japan Officially Makes Major Investment in Indonesia
President Prabowo Subianto attended the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo, and the results immediately stirred excitement in the business world. In total, there are more than 10 strategic agreements with a fantastic value: $23.63 billion or approximately Rp 401.7 trillion! The location was no ordinary venue — the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. These agreements target highly important sectors, namely clean energy and carbon downstreaming, giant oil and gas, geothermal, semiconductors and AI, as well as finance and global investment. Some of the most attention-grabbing projects are the development of the Masela Block by Pertamina and INPEX, and the Indonesia-Japan semiconductor and AI project. This project could propel Indonesia into the global chip industry supply chain. Next is a major geothermal project supported by JICA, as well as investment and business cooperation between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japan External Trade Organization. The completion of all these agreements is significant because it indicates Japan’s increasing trust in establishing economic cooperation with Indonesia. Through these partnerships, opportunities also open for Indonesia to become a key player in the energy and technology sectors. However, remember… all of this is still at the MoU stage, not everything will immediately become real projects. This means it still requires time, realisation, and supervision.
