Prabowo Bluntly Denies Disliking or Planning to Expel Foreign Investors

President Prabowo Subianto has denied accusations suggesting that the head of state dislikes and intends to expel foreign investors. The rebuttal was delivered by Prabowo whilst opening the 18th National Conference of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association in Bandar Lampung, Lampung Province, on Wednesday (10/6/2026). In his speech, the head of state reminded attendees that entrepreneurs are the key to a nation’s revival, as they are the ones who create jobs. “Therefore, the government must create favourable conditions for businesspeople. Among these favourable conditions is that the law must be enforced,” said Prabowo. He continued that if the government fails to uphold the law, what ensues is the law of the jungle, wild law, and rule by might, which ultimately does not serve anyone’s interests. “Some people say that Prabowo does not like and will later expel foreign investors. That apparently is not the case. I have met many investors who are set to enter,” said Prabowo. “But we understand that among us there are always those who dislike the rule of law. They prefer a lawless environment,” added the chairman of the Gerindra Party.
