Prabowo Blasts Corruptors: 'Hey, Come to Your Senses, Stop Your Practices'

President Prabowo Subianto has once again warned corruptors to stop their practices and return the state assets they have taken. “I warn you again, once again, for the umpteenth time, I have been saying this for ages. Hey corruptors, come to your senses. Stop your practices. Stop. The people are not stupid. Stop,” Prabowo said during the commemoration of the 79th National Cooperative Day in Jakarta on Sunday (12/7). Prabowo urged corruptors to return state wealth. According to him, the Indonesian nation is forgiving, but justice must still be upheld. “Return the people’s wealth, return it properly. We are a forgiving nation, but the people need justice,” he said. Prabowo stated that the Indonesian people must become prosperous. He said state funds should be used to build good schools and to improve the welfare of teachers, doctors, nurses, the military, police, and civil servants. “The people need good schools, teachers need good salaries. Doctors and nurses need good salaries. Soldiers and police need good salaries so they do not extort the people. Civil servants need good salaries so they do not engage in corruption,” Prabowo asserted. On the occasion, Prabowo also said the government would discipline state-owned enterprises (BUMN), which he claimed have been a source of corrupt practices. “We will clean up these BUMNs. All this time, BUMNs have been a source of corruption,” Prabowo explained.
