Prabowo Bids Farewell to PB IPSI, Will Not Run for Chairman Again

Today is a day of pride, happiness, and honour for me, as it can be said that I have served pencak silat for 34 years,” said Prabowo at the XVI National Congress of PB IPSI at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (11/4/2026).

Prabowo admitted to having served in the PB IPSI leadership from deputy general chairman to general chairman. He also requested permission from the PB IPSI extended family not to run again for general chairman.

“If I am not mistaken, as deputy general chairman for four terms, then as general chairman for five terms. Alhamdulillah, today I state that I request permission not to continue as general chairman of PB IPSI,” he said.

Prabowo stated that the duties he bears as President of the Republic of Indonesia are so time-consuming. He also apologised for not being very active in PB IPSI.

“Because I have taken on national duties that consume my time, it is not possible for me to be effective as general chairman of PB IPSI. I also apologise that for some time now, it can be said that for almost three years I have not been very active in the forefront, but I have always supported from behind,” he said.
