Prabowo Bids Farewell to Belarusian President at Halim After Bilateral Talks
President Prabowo Subianto bid farewell to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko after their bilateral meeting. Prabowo personally escorted President Lukashenko to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base. The moment was shared on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account on Thursday (2/7/2026). Prabowo saluted President Lukashenko from the bottom of the aircraft stairs, and President Lukashenko returned the salute from the aircraft door.
The meeting between Prabowo and President Lukashenko launched the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030, a framework for bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus. Prabowo stated that the road map demonstrates a shared commitment to making the cooperation between the two countries more focused. ‘Today, both countries have launched the Indonesia-Belarus cooperation strengthening road map 2026-2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years. This road map reflects a shared commitment to more focused and concrete cooperation,’ Prabowo said during a joint press statement at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/7/2026).
Additionally, the meeting of the two heads of state resulted in several agreements and arrangements. The cooperation covers the fields of health, financial transactions and services, and science and technology. Prabowo expressed hope that the various cooperation agreements reached during the meeting could be implemented promptly and provide tangible benefits for both countries.
The MoU documents and agreements agreed upon during the meeting include: 1. Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus; 2. Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus; 3. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Financial Services Authority and the National Bank of Belarus; 4. Memorandum of Understanding on Health Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus; 5. Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; 6. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Exchange of Intelligence Reports related to Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction between PPATK of the Republic of Indonesia and the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus; and 7. Memorandum of Understanding on National Accreditation Cooperation between the National Accreditation Committee of the Republic of Indonesia and the Republican Unitary Enterprise Belarusian State Center for Accreditation.
Lukashenko expressed his pleasure with the results of the joint commitment. He pledged to realise the cooperation. ‘I am pleased that as a result of this visit to Indonesia, various meetings with the President of Indonesia in Minsk and today’s meeting, as well as the ministers and delegation members, our business representatives have today signed various agreements worth tens of millions of dollars,’ he said. According to him, Prabowo’s meeting in Belarus in July 2025 served as an important foundation for realising the cooperation agenda between the two countries. He conveyed that Belarus sees the significant work being undertaken by Indonesia under Prabowo’s leadership. ‘I would like to convey that Mr President, we are happy, we from Belarus are very happy that as a result of this visit to Indonesia, you have also seen Belarus,’ he said. ‘We see for ourselves that what is being done is a great work. I want to once again affirm that what we have planned is now being realised,’ he continued.
