Bogor, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto gave directions while attending the event ‘Building the Future Generation of Indonesia Through Nutrition’ at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
This national consolidation event was attended by approximately 12,173 participants and 5,873 partners involved in the implementation of the MBG program in various regions of Indonesia.
In his instructions, Prabowo forbade the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens from serving omelettes.
“Partners, secondly, do not make omelettes,” Prabowo firmly stated.
He explained that omelettes are prone to being mixed with other ingredients, such as flour. Therefore, Prabowo asked the MBG kitchens to serve boiled or fried eggs for students to eat at school.
“If it’s an omelette, I’ve been Indonesian for a long time. If it’s an omelette, it will be mixed with all sorts of things. Right? There’s more flour than egg. So the egg must be whole, fried or boiled,” said Prabowo.
Not only that, the Head of State also highlighted the very small portions of chicken in the MBG menu. He asked that the MBG kitchens not cut one chicken into 14 pieces.
He showed all the MBG partners present about a chicken that was cut into 14 pieces and eight pieces.
“Look at the chicken, the chicken, show the chicken. Chicken, right? The one on the left, can you see it? Small portion. This is cut into 14. Can you see? Here, the one on the left is the chicken cut into 14,” said Prabowo, showing a plate.
“And this one, how many? This one is eight. The one on the right is eight,” Prabowo continued.
Thus, the Head of State warned the SPPG partners not to cut one chicken into 14 pieces. Prabowo asked the Director General of Basic Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti to oversee the implementation of his instructions.
“If, if you cut more than 14, it’s a sin, a sin. How many millions of Indonesian children will be disappointed? Right?”
“Right? I will ask the Minister of Education, the Director General of Basic Education, to ask the heads of schools, teachers, and students to report. Is the chicken small or big? If necessary, take random photos and weigh it. Yes, okay,” he added.
On the other hand, Prabowo emphasized that the MBG program is a great mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility. He stressed that all implementations of the MBG program have an important role in ensuring that the benefits can be optimally felt by the community.
