President Prabowo Subianto has asserted that efforts to strengthen national energy security are the result of collaborative work built continuously by previous administrations. The President stated that the idea was first initiated in 2008 during the tenure of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), continued during the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and now carried forward under his administration until successfully achieving the B50 mandate. “Imagine, from 2008, that was the SBY administration. It continued during the Jokowi administration. At the end, I continued it. It’s like a relay,” President Prabowo said in his speech at the launch of the B50 Biodiesel Mandate at KM 57 Rest Area, Karawang Regency, West Java, on Thursday. President Prabowo stated that this achievement was the result of collaboration from many parties, ranging from ministries and agencies to stakeholders in the energy and palm oil sectors. “We work together, teamwork. This minister has contributed, that one has contributed. We could not have achieved B50 without the support of many parties,” the President said. Prabowo emphasised that the biodiesel development programme is not a policy born in a single administration period. According to him, policy continuity is the key to national development success. He assessed that a strategic programme will not yield results if it is not continued by the subsequent administration. Therefore, Prabowo invited all parties to appreciate the contributions of previous leaders and to refrain from mutual disparagement or slander. He also reminded that differences of opinion are a normal part of life, but the government remains committed to implementing policies deemed best for the nation’s interests. “There are those who choose the evil path, there are those who choose the good path. We are on the straight path, on the right path,” he said.
